What Are Dual-Degree Programs?

Dual degrees can be common when pursuing Business majors and programs. Here's what to know about them from one of our experts.

Director of Communications

Dual degree programs allow students to enter a seamless course of study, taking them from an undergraduate to a graduate degree, such as a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and a Master of Business Administration. These programs typically take less time and may be more intensive than traditional programs. For example, students may encounter a 4+1 BA/MBA program, where four years are spent earning a Bachelor of Arts degree and an additional year is spent earning the Master of Business Administration. Students generally don't need to reapply for the graduate portion of their studies either. Dual degrees typically help students save money and time, as they both complete their studies earlier than had they pursued each degree separately and they are able to enter the workforce sooner.
