10 Signs the End of School Is Turning You Into a Zombie

May is Zombie Awareness Month, and the end of the school year may have you feeling like the undead. Here are 10 scary signs to watch out for!

May is Zombie Awareness Month, a campaign that was launched by the (yes, that’s a real thing) in 2007 in hopes of educating people about the threat of a zombie apocalypse. Enthusiasts don , which are “meant to signify the undead menace that threatens our modern light of day” and “acknowledge the coming danger that we may all soon face.”

May also marks the winding down of the school year for millions of students across the country, and regardless of whether you believe in flesh-eating monsters, you might be feeling like one during this final push toward summer (or graduation!). That’s because, contrary to popular belief, being bitten by a zombie isn’t the only thing that will turn you into one. Homework, standardized tests, and finals can all leave you with a zombie-esque thousand-yard stare. Are you suffering from the following symptoms?

1. You’re becoming increasingly clumsy

"Ugh, too tired to function..."

2. Your vocabulary is becoming...not good

At some point, you’ll have crammed so many SAT words into your head that they'll all just come spilling out, leaving you with the conversational skills of your four-year-old cousin. “Mom. Need food. Much hungry.”

3. Your condition is contagious

Your smile once lit up the room and your bubbly personality was infectious. Gone are those days. Now your grumpiness is making everyone around you feel like Crazy Craig.

4. Your brain is fragile

You’ve spent the past nine months or so sitting through class after class and hitting the books. Your exhausted, zombie-like brain is the most vulnerable part of your body by now.

5. Moving around, even (or especially) just to get out of bed, is cumbersome

And once you’re up, your strut is more like Frankenstein's than Gisele's.

6. You’re unaffected by things that used to bother you

The slings and arrows of pop quizzes and hefty reading assignments bounce right off of you—an unemotional, zombie-like defense mechanism.

7. You’ve developed a one-track mind

Like a zombie does little else but hunt for its next meal, all you can think about is surviving the next few weeks.

8. Your fashion choices aren’t as on fleek as they once were

Maybe you aren’t looking as ragged as a character from The Walking Dead, but your sense of style has definitely seen better days.

9. You’re running on instinct rather than intelligence

Like a zombie, you've been reduced to your most basic instincts at this point, like you're running on autopilot. School, eat, sleep, repeat.

10. You’re hungry for human flesh

Woah...wait a tick. You might be an actual zombie. This just got awkward...

CollegeXpress has helped me tremendously during my senior year of high school. I started off using the college search to find more information about the universities I was interested in. Just this tool alone gave me so much information about a particular school. It was my one-stop shop to learn about college. I was able to find information about college tuition, school rank, majors, and so much more that I can't list it all. The college search tool has helped me narrow down which college I want to attend, and it made a stressful process surprisingly not so stressful. I then moved to the scholarship search tool to find scholarships to apply for because I can't afford to pay for tuition myself. The search tool helped me find scholarships that I was eligible for. The tool gave me all the information I could ever need about a particular scholarship that was being offered. The 糖心Vlog scholarship search tool is so much better than other tools offered, like the Chegg scholarship search. Thanks to 糖心Vlog, I was able to apply to tons of scholarships in a relatively easy way!

My favorite part of 糖心Vlog is that it features student writers so I get an inside perspective from students slightly older and farther along than me. I realize that other college websites also utilize student writers; however, I relate the most to the college writers that I read articles from on 糖心Vlog.

I found 糖心Vlog when you partnered with Bold.org for a scholarship. I found your website, put my information in, and got connected. I only wanted to stay in North Carolina [for college] and not move far from home, but you all opened a door up for me. I started researching colleges you suggested for me. On your social media platforms, you also give really good test-taking tips that I used and suggested others to do the same. It helped me a lot on my exams, so thank you.

糖心Vlog really helped me by letting me know the colleges ratings and placements. They gave me accurate information on my colleges tuition rates and acceptance. They even let me know the ration between students and faculty and the diversity of the college. Overall they told me everything I needed and things I didnt even think I needed to know about my college and other colleges I applied for.

CollegeXpress helped me on my journey to get to the school of my first choice by showing me all the options I have. I didn’t know of the College of Southern Nevada until I went on this website, and it helped me look for other choices and compare what colleges would be right for me.
