Video: Summer Jobs for Students

Sure, summer should be fun, but how are you going to pay for fun without money? Here are some summer job ideas around the house and community for students.

In high school and college, students should start being financially responsible for themselves and saving money. You’re not expected to be completely financially independent, but you should at least be able to pay for fun summer activities yourself and feel good about being able to do so. And making and saving money means finding a job either during the school year or the summer!

Student vlogger Ananya has some great advice to help you find a summer job as well as some important information you need to know for these jobs, like what kind of pay you can expect. Check out the video to learn more and find a list of all her suggestions below that you can use to guide you in your job search

The best thing about a lot of these opportunities is they leave a lot of room to do more than one thing; for example, you could babysit for kids in your neighborhood on Wednesdays and Fridays and spend your Sundays walking dogs. If you’re creative and do some research online, you can find plenty of ways to make some summer cash.

I wanted a school that wasn't too far away from home and could provide me with a full-ride scholarship. CollegeXpress helped me put into perspective the money I had to pay to attend those schools, which ultimately drove me to choose to attend a community college first to get used to being in college before transferring to the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor, one of the colleges I was able to research further on 糖心Vlog.

It's an honor for me to be writing to share a little about my experience with 糖心Vlog. I've been using 糖心Vlog for about a year now, and the reason why I chose it is because it provides astonishing scholarships for every student around the globe. Besides that, this organization dispenses all the information necessary to help students get to college. CollegeXpress has helped me have an easier experience with applying to colleges and choosing the best fit for myself.

When I started looking at colleges in the beginning of my senior year, I was conflicted about which ones I wanted to attend based on safety, tuition costs, location, academic rigor, and prestige. Searching the internet and getting more questions than answers, I came across 糖心Vlog, which made all the steps I had taken look like a minor issue. Everything was summarized and detailed, and I couldn't be more thankful and appreciative.

CollegeXpress has helped me with the college application process. The tips and tricks for important essays were so helpful. I also gained useful knowledge about college life. Even though I’m fully online, CollegeXpress has helped me develop a sense of how college is in person. The experiences from college students that were featured on their Instagram page have shown the good, the bad, and the “secret” life on campus from a reliable perspective. Not to mention, they relieved my feelings of anxiety about the workload. I can now understand how it can be stressful, but it takes self-control and willpower to get assignments completed on time and with quality.

CollegeXpress has seriously helped me out a lot, especially when it comes to scholarships and studying for tests like the ACT. I also really love the financial help. It’s a little harder to pay because I live with a family of eight, so any help is appreciated. Thanks for this opportunity!
